Serve at Trinity
At Trinity, we seek to be a community of faith, hope, and love. This means that we gather together to worship Jesus Christ, share the hope of God with the world in witness and service, and seek to love one another as a church family.
We are so glad that you have decided to call Trinity your church home! With each new member, we become more of the church that God is calling us to be! We hope that you will pray and inquire about ways that you might wish to get plugged into the life of faith, study, fellowship, and service at Trinity.
Our work is overseen by an array of great committees and lived out in many different roles. If you are interested in serving on a committee or just volunteering fill out the form here and a committee chair will be in touch with more information.
Christian Education
Christian Education (or “C.E.”) Committees are responsible for all aspects of the church’s educational programs, an annual Vacation Bible School for children, youth programs for 6th-12th graders, and for approving (with Session) all volunteers and curricula. At Trinity, our CE committees work with a focus on age ranges and life stages:
- C.E. Children for kids birth to 5th grade and parents.
- C.E. Students for youth 6th-12th grade, college students, and their parents.
- C.E. Adults for all adult programming.
Congregational Care
The Congregational Care Committee’s function is to minister to and show Christian love to the congregation at large by keeping in touch with all members, especially those persons confined to their homes, hospitalized, and/or suffering because of a personal crisis.
Fellowship
The Fellowship Committee plans and directs activities within the church that foster and promote fellowship, community, and communication within the congregation. These functions include coordinating weekly Coffee Hour following the 10:00 am service, monthly church potluck lunches, and two picnic lunches (Fall and Spring) held on the bluff across Scenic 98 from Trinity.
Finance and Stewardship
The Finance/Stewardship Committee helps to communicate and keep track of the annual budget adopted by Session. The committee is responsible for conducting an annual stewardship campaign, managing memorials and gifts, and providing a monthly budget report to the Session. Many areas of this ministry are recruited, but if you have a particular interest in this area, please let us know.
Property
The Property Committee is responsible for all aspects of the maintenance and upkeep of the church’s property and grounds. It may recommend to the Session occasional work days, and it oversees anyone who is hired or contracted to carry out maintenance, upkeep, or repairs. This committee shall recommend to the Session any request for use of the real estate and/or buildings and be subject to the Session’s approval.
Witness and Outreach
The Witness and Outreach Committee is charged with leading the church in its effort to show the love of Jesus in concrete and visible ways, by word and deed. The committee plans and organizes participation in local and foreign missions and, on behalf of Trinity Presbyterian Church, coordinates activities of the church with agencies of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and other local and national agencies serving the well-being of the community. It also organizes benevolence giving to various programs.
Trinity Presbyterian Church serves many community organizations including, Alabama Free Clinic, Family Promise of Baldwin County, Ecumenical Ministries, Prodisee Pantry, Under His Wings, Kairos Prison Ministry International, Baldwin County Habitat for Humanity, and the Rotary Youth Club.
Worship and Music
The Worship and Music Committee is responsible for the oversight of the services of worship in the local congregation, the administration of sacraments, and the supply of the pulpit in the absence of the minister. The committee has oversight of the music program and the cadre of ushers, greeters, and acolytes.
